French Kissing.

I LOVE French bikes for the same reason I love Italian bikes, built with passion, style, poor build quality that keeps you on your toes, the French take it a step Further.

Some classic Sean Kelly Vitus action, and a new Look that is about perfect and Laurent Jalabert the last true all-arounder, cap never out of place, true style rode Look most of his career.

Egh...Really?

Mike Giant at it again with another gross colabo that is only cool to 50 year old industry guys, I don't even think Mike Giant likes this shit anymore.

It Just Works.

I saw one of these beauties a couple of years ago at the FSA grandprix, one of the Cali guys was riding one and my heart stopped, it just works. I have seen Hunter's other bikes with this curvey tubed treatment and they all look kind of....off.

I need one, maybe next year when I make my return to the track, I'm going to miss it this summer.......

Weight Weenie Trackie?

I have been postulating lately on the idea of a weight weenie track bike, this has been something i've been working on for 3-4years but have never pulled the trigger but the gult of oversized overwight 700cmx bikes has given some urgency to creating their antithesis. Both these bikes weight between 12-13lbs. Your average 700cmx bike is 25-27lbs, yuck! The best trick is going fast!

Colnago used to be......

...for tough guys, real hard men not dentists who drive their Colnago's on top of their Porsche's to go ride. Long stems, round bars, real saddles not weight weenie junk, box section rims and tubs. Ready for anything. Harden the Fuck UP!

Winter Whip

Early season races or "The Classics" are a time when men of a broader persuasion shine and being one of those men, my first race of the season is almost here. So I thought I would share my proper early season racebike/rainbike. I have been training all winter on this thing but due to my obsessive cleaning she is no worse for wear. Campy Chorus throughout, rear der has Kcnc 11t ceramic pulleys and Rival brakes do the stopping. The wheels are about as "Classic" as it gets 32hole Mavic open pro cd with campy record hubs (THE BEST) and the piece de resistance.....green Vittoria Pave tires. Proper steel racebike coming soon...........

So Fresh

One of my favorites Paolo Bettini showed up in San Deigo, always so fresh, look at that bike.....Perfecto! Here is a pic I took of him at the first Tour of California prologue in San fran.

Campy Kharma

I found this hub in the mixed metal recycle, no axle or cones, a freewheel stuck on, cut spokes but with a little ingenuity and help I got the freewheel off and polished her up, new bearings and grease, axle and cones from my stash and now..........good as new.

Nahbs

It's been a week and I have ingested as much of what happened as possible. Kind of a bummer, as the show was sponsored by Shimano most builders indulged their host by creating ghastly DI2 show bikes, ugh......I few highlights were the Speedvagen booth, the new lavender color is sooooo perfect and Dario Pegoretti coming to build the batch of track frames....wow! The DeRosa track frame was a pleasant surprise. I think the Desalvo tig bike that won best tig frame really is the future, I'm not saying that just because I'm building something very similar. Steel is the new hightech frame material. Now how am I going to pay for a 2011 Speedvagen?

Powered by Sram

I've been thinking about building a Sram bike for a while and then I see things like this and I repress those evil thoughts.
