I have been thinking and weirdly? reading alot about saddles lately. Ira Ryan has a nice bit on his blog and the new Rouleur has a nice piece and I'll paraphrase, about when and why the evolution of saddles reached it's zenith. And I agree looks wise and feel wise, the 1980's is it! Rolls, Regal, Concor, Turbo, et al. But these day's every dentist wants the next lightist bike in the coffee shop ride and that's just it, you can really tell who rides and who doesn't by their saddle. The guys who spend the most time riding, ride the old fav's and the fakes ride the carbon ass hatchets. I've tried them all and my new true love is the Fizik Aliante and I am not alone. I'm done searching.....uh now just need to figure out my pedal situation on the crossbike and also I'm so over carbon seatposts. It never ends.
