Another Campy knock-off this time from the house that mediocrity build, FSA and Gimondi's giving his name to it, oh come on!

Thoughts on Being "Euro".
Ira Ryan had some interesting thoughts on the use of the term “euro” as opposed to “pro” and so on, so I thought I would share a few words on the subject, one that I spend an extraordinary time thinking about. The ultimate cyclist is not pro, I have seen too many very fast racers who have the worst taste and style, worrisome bike fits and an overall ignorance towards cycling as a culture outside of sport. On the other hand there are those who fetishize bikes and spend crazy money and time on obsessive retro projects and the next big thing to impress there friends but surprisingly little time riding. The kind of guy with carbon wheels and the newest wonder bike but xxxl shorts from 10years ago. I think the perfect cyclist one that I hope to become, a monk, he moves and pedals effortlessly his style is subtle, clean and undeniable. Racing is a tool used to improve the breed not to define it, racers burn out and fade away (get fat). This takes years of time and patience and more time riding than ranting on the interweb.

So Much Italian Junk.
I rode my DeRosa to Mr. Sizemore to get my Colnago repaired and talk about a PDX Concorde project, also seen on his blog; http://sizemorebicycle.com/

My new Object of Lust.
The details on this thing are a little fuzzy still, the rumor is that it's a Richard Sachs side project, built in off the peg sizes, the lugs and tubes are Sachs spec so....Sachs has been riding a alloy version and giving feedback, word is he really likes it and he hates alloy and carbon forks, so they must be good...if not a little pricey but what's money?

Save the Track Bike, Literally.
My new project, seemed like bike kharma, craigslist my size $125! for the whole bike and it's French! Now that's old school, that's why people started riding these things in the first place, because you could get then so cheap. And yes, I already had that poster up in my apt, Gitane is the brand with the most Tour de France wins, the brand of champions, Hinault, Fignon, Anquetil and me. I thought Italian bikes were build a little sloppy, yikes!
