My new project, seemed like bike kharma, craigslist my size $125! for the whole bike and it's French! Now that's old school, that's why people started riding these things in the first place, because you could get then so cheap. And yes, I already had that poster up in my apt, Gitane is the brand with the most Tour de France wins, the brand of champions, Hinault, Fignon, Anquetil and me. I thought Italian bikes were build a little sloppy, yikes!
Nice find. I've had one mid-1980s Gitane Piste for a while and yeah, the quality of the frame seemed bit rough around the edges, to say at least...
